Isaiah 53 is the “Mount Everest” of the Bible, pointing back to God’s promise of the Messiah and forward to the fulfillment shown in Jesus Christ. Looking through Philip’s encounter with an Ethiopian official in Acts 8 shows why this passage of scripture is so important for us today, seeing Jesus as the Sovereign, Suffering Servant.
